Administrator for the BlackBoard Learning Management System. Responsible for application monitoring, and custom programming of scripts to interface between the BANNER Student Information System and BlackBoard. System supports 3,850 students and 300 faculty. Conduct training seminars in the use of BlackBoard for faculty.

Also perform custom programming of other web applications needed to support faculty, staff, and student learning.

Faculty/Coordinator (2004—2005)
As a faculty member, taught CST101 Technology Tools to a face-to-face class of 52 students in Fall 2004, 40 students online in Spring 2005, and 10 students in a mix of face-to-face and online in Summer 2005. Also co-taught CST395 Special Topics: Web Scripting, a new course about creating dynamic database-driven websites using MySQL and PHP in Spring of 2005.

Created a web application using PHP and MySQL to handle reporting detailed grades on assignments for CST101 classes. Created a web application using PHP and MySQL to collect ŅStudent Feedback on Instructor and CourseÓ evaluations; system collected evaluations for 35% of the class seats offered at CSUMB, and averaged more than a 55% response rate. System also produces statistical summaries and offers an export to Excel to permit further analysis.

As Coordinator, was responsible for assisting faculty and staff in processing paperwork, updating the ITCD website (complete redesign in progress), organizing meetings and the annual strategic planning retreat, and general administrative duties.

Supervised Customer Relations specialists handling customer problems, special orders, and disputes. Supervised Shipping Clerks responsible for fulfillment of direct-shipped products. Programmed in ColdFusion, SQL, Perl, PHP, and Delphi to support E-commerce applications.

Manager of Information Technology (2000—2001)
Responsible for the operation of ten production servers supporting 167 websites. Supervised web programmers and interacted with graphics production and content development departments to create large commercial web sites featuring dynamic content, virtual communities, multimedia, and e-commerce. Responsible for systems analysis to support business needs, application development of systems to support operations, and implementation/deployment planning.

Responsible for the technical operations and all customer support for Internet web site design and hosting company. Operated a main and a backup server, which provided web, email, statistics, FTP, and FrontPage support to 51 clients. Specialized in websites that were dynamically generated from databases, or utilized other custom programming to help provide a richer experience for the viewer.

Chief Technology Officer/President (1996—1998)
Responsible for the technical operations, programming, and planning of two Internet service companies. Operated two web servers handling more than 60 web sites. Wrote e-commerce system that processed more than $10,000 per week of orders. Helped create and market one of the top niche-targeted websites getting over 150,000 page views a day and over 1.5 million hits daily. Responsible for network operations of LAN connected to the Internet by two T-1s. Also did website design and programming for various clients, including magazines, law firms, and public-relations firms.

Senior Programmer (1995—1997)
Responsible for creating multimedia Computer-Based Training using MacromediaÕs (now AdobeÕs) Authorware. Primary client was the Federal Aviation Administration, developing courses for En-Route and TRACON Air Traffic Controllers. Programmed METAR course (dealing with transition to new weather reporting format) which had 60,000 copies distributed to controllers, flight service specialists, airline pilots, and ground personnel. Also wrote and programmed videodisc course on DARC (Direct Access Radar Channel, a backup air traffic control system). Was narrator for half the courses, alternating modules with a female narrator.

Courses programmed included Hijack, Aircraft Bomb Threats, METAR, DARC, and DSR (Display System Replacement, the next-generation display consoles). Developed custom external modules in Delphi or Pascal for special functions that could not be accomplished within the Authorware programming environment. Also developed simulators in Visual Basic and Delphi for the Oceanic section of the air traffic control system.

Senior Engineer (1985—1995, 1997—2000)
Responsible for programming and hardware design of embedded systems. Also wrote programs running under DOS and Windows. Designed integrated circuit chips. Programmed embedded systems using a variety of processors. Performed all phases of hardware design, including initial design, schematic capture, and PCB layout. Also did technical writing of documentation and any graphic arts required.
